WOW! This camera is out of control………..and there are only three “downfalls” . . . one of which is the $6800 price tag, which with tax is nearly a 2K increase over the standard EOS 1D release date price tag . . . and the other two would only mess with you if you owned BOTH the eos1DmkIV and the eos1dmkIIIs. Less mega pickles than the 1Ds and no crop like the 1.3 on the mkIV that helps give sports photogs just a little more reach towards distant subjects. On every other level this camera shits on everything, and i will be buying one.
-> hint. DO NOT PREORDER, WAIT AT LEAST 3-4 MONTHS. why? i got one of the first 500 eos1DmkIV that were delivered, and Canon might have been in a little rush to get those out of the factory, and no less than 3 months of shooting and the camera malfunctioned due to water/corrosion damage………while the Mark2 that Andy Wright beat up for years and sold to me never had a single problem. With new products there are always a few quirks and kinks, and with a pricetag like that…….its better to wait and let the other people spend hecka loot learning that the second or third factory run of these things is always bombproof, while the first ones are usually subject to a ton of problems.
That said, i LOVE Canon, and it seem that the 1dX is attacking the purported weak points of the MarkIV and the MarkIIIs, silence Nikon fans, and stun anyone who uses it.
Good looking out Canon.
